Last Run:
We gathered beneath the Leaning Tower of Brisbane.
We set off to see a verity of City attractions, this included the Brisbane Watchouse which might well have a "No vacancy" sign outside it after the New Year celebrations.
Hares Woppa and Flower were given a well deserved Down Down for the run and superb catering that followed.
Hippy Hippy Shake was driving past and could not resist our invite to participate in such a great event. She loved Hashing in daylight and Skiddy rewarded her with an Down Down, we hope to see her again.
Bite n Suck and VD seldom miss a Down Down

Last Run Report - Flatter than expected

XXX said he was so full of wind he wanted to be the Hashes new Bugler. Little did he know that the hills were going to take his breath away.
After the run there were few who could remember we went downhill - so heres a photo to prove it.
Using photoshops tilt utility feature makes this path looks quite flat. Its about here that Topless decided to take a closer look at the gravel - later she loved all the care and attention heaped upon her.
Returning Hashers Fancy Liqueur and Pizza were given a down down by the Grand Mistress.
Skiddy and Sherpa were generous to the extreme and held another raffle in which I think almost everyone was a winner. Schnapps served up some wholesome Hash Nosh which we all enjoyed - it even attracted the resident Possum
Tooheys New was rewarded with a down down and as usual gave the camera an irrepressible smile.

Next Run - Sunday 03rd Nov 2013 at 5 PM + Photos

Your Hares: Stubby & Schnapps

Location: Lomandra Picnic Area, Samford Rd. UBD Page 117 - C/17

Time: 5 PM (Summer Time Run)

Our run at Margate Beach was set by Topless.

Some of us arrived at the appointed time and were carefully briefed by Topless.  Fearing that we  might venture too far  East and end up in the sea Topless offered us all a map. As this would eliminate the legitimate right of a Hasher getting lost and then shortcutting home we declined her kind offer.
A hectic and exhausting pace was set by the runners, when we arrived at Bee Gees Walk there was just enough time to catch our breaths and admire the wall of fame.
Somewhere along the way Catatonic managed to catch up with us all, he was duly welcomed into the circle by our New GM Crown Larger and given a down down as a virgin to SH3 Inc.
Bootee managed to amuse us with various excuses as to why she had been missing, for example reminding us that she had a habit of turning up as a Hare on the wrong day and then having to eat baked potatoes for the next month.
Flower was called up for the last down down, did she turn the other cheek or was she glancing at the food because knowing how we had all exerted ourselves on the trail Topless rewarded us with a heap of wholesome tucker which we all enjoyed. Thanks to all.

Next Run Sunday 06th October 2013 at 4PM + Photos

Your Hare: Topless

Location: Margate Beach, address will be e-mailed. Will Bee Gees Way be included?

The Time: 4PM

Last Run:
The Hash Environmental Officer arranged a Pit Stop in the "Celebration Hut" of Hashgrove.
The runners, who were by this time well ahead of the walkers,  were confronted with the largest check circle ever found.
Earlier we had scoffed at the suggestion by the Hare that the run was sooooo long she had run out of chalk - now we knew why. As for those that lost the trail, how could you, just look at the size of the arrows that Grouse Sheila set - Guide Dog friendly even!
After the Inc's AGM, our irrepressible Hare started the evenings proceedings as any Sheila would do!
Our New Hash GM, Crown Larger, was welcomed by all and shared a down down with 2 sinners . The parrot in the background kept chanting "she's all right she's all right_____" - well Polly might have been taught those words by Hash cook, nobody disagreed.

Your Hare: Radar - He says that nobody should miss these hills.

Location: Mt Gravatt - for those not on the e-mail list please call Radar for directions.

Time: 4 PM on 04th August 2013

Our last run was Skidmark and Sherpa's 30th Anniversary.

We gathered at the appointed spot for what we expected to be an assent of Mt Coot-Tha. Flower then gave us a briefing on her new underarm deodorant, this was followed by the Hares briefing and then we were off - hence the deodorant.

There was a special section for those who always like to go downhill!!!!
As might be expected the Hares set a fabulous run. Some said it had its ups and downs, maybe just to prove that they really did go all the way round. Along the way Darcy misunderstood Radar's commands and decided to jump off one of the trails bridges, having proved to us all that dogs cannot fly he was guided out of the gully and completed the trail on a lead.
No name Mike was given a traditional welcome to the Hash by Grouse Sheila.

Our Hosts for the evening announced their special 30th Anniversary and very generously added warmth to this happy occasion by providing us with some Hash attire, which as you can see is CCT camera proof.

Thank you to Skidmark and Sherpa for feeding us so well. Later Skidmark pricked up the courage to ask Sherpa to dance and we all went On On.

Next Run - 05th May 2013 at Iron Bark Gully with a 4 PM start

Location: Iron Bark Gully, Samford Rd, Ferny Hills. UBD page 117 F/17
Hares: Stubby & Schnapps
Specials: Catering will be by "Pot Luck" - bring something to share.

Last Run:
Access to the last run was via the "Pearly Gates" - was this a practice run for the real thing? Must have been because we had the "Beer Family" involved?

As the thunder crashed around us the RA chanted "rain rain go away". This of course didn't matter to those lucky few who found themselves in a tunnel at just the right time, they spent the time "knitting" and trying to decided if it was On or Back. The rain ceased and it was On On.

Sherpa clutches her halo as she nears the Pearly Gates with Flower.
The timing was perfect
Two Beers are always better than one!
Welcome to Baggins who held us spellbound with his tails of Africa.
We were well fed and the RA entertained us at the Circle, what more could we ask for - more Beer perhaps. Thanks guys, a fun run.

Your Hares: The "Beer" Family

Location: Under the Albert Bridge - Chelmer

Time: NEW WINTER TIME: 4 PM on 07th April 2013

Last Run Report & Photos:

This is Biggus Fish whom Biggus Dickus passed in the stream while setting the run, if only Dickus had followed the  paper we wouldn't have had to put up with all the Cods Wallop.

Skiddy gave Down Downs to Bootee for doing the run in a Ball Gown, Rader for just turning up and Sherpa for being tickled pink
According to our GM:
Bootee and I had covered the ground to be marked some weeks before the run. On the day rain came in so bad that the GM was wet all the way to his Biggus but halfway during the run fell into "the drink" twice. I was swept down stream for a bit but managed to get back on soggy land. The silly GM tried to complete the trail but "passed out" on a creek bed in almost complete darkness. Talk about running the "shitty trail". I swam it.
Sorry folks for worrying about me. Except, Radar - this run would have made one of your mud runs look very easy. I did hear from those on the run that "how could the Hare get lost, all he had to do was to knock on a door to find directions" Who from?? Toad hall. I did pass out for a while. Bit of a worry but thanks to you who came looking for me. Biggus On On.

According to the Hash:
Biggus we all enjoyed the run and if you'd made it to the Circle you'd have loved the grub that Bootee laid on. A big thank you to you both.

Chinese New Year, what a cracker!!!!!!

We met at the Rotary park. As its the Year of the Snake some made lots of banter about swollen rivers   displacing snakes but most knew better. We were to wade in the water a few times on our tour of the Highvale area. Checks were fun and there was at least one song on the way.
Spice Girl hosted a drinks stop and we hung around long enough for Radar to catch up, the hips on the mend. The usual Chinese New Year feast was washed down with lots of laughter, and oh everybody was a winner at the Raffle - our thanks to Skiddy & Sherpa for that.

Rumourmonger and Spice Girl had an intrepid trail laid
The Beers said XXXX and hung back waiting for the tide to go out
Wopa and Bite and Suck are our star interjectors and they received a down down for their efforts

The Hares were wished a Gong Xi Fa Cai and Skiddy gave them a down down
Lying Loo has never been Verbal's style, but he showed some tonight!!!!
Thanks Rumourmonger and Spice Girl, its a yearly event we always look forward to and we are never disappointed. On On

Last Run - Words (thanks Bootee & Biggus Dickus) and Photos below:

Samford Run 6 Jan 2013, Mt Cootha

A pack of 21 hashers set out enthusiastically from the Mt Cootha Picnic Ground.  The trail wound up the road past Channel 9, where Woopa tried his best to audition for the next episode of underbelly.  The channel 9 workers, who were trying to have their ciggies in peace, nearly misinterpreted his actions as needing the rescue helicopter.  But the helicopter had just been out and needed the little cheesy biscuits and orange juices replaced, so they decided to ignore him.

Radar then hooned past in his car, just missing the pack, and was not seen again until the circle as he totally made up his own run anyway.

The rest of us took to the bush, on dirt tracks.  We all felt safer in the knowledge that Wopa, Flower and Bite & Suck had been watching their kung-foo movies and were ready at a moment’s notice to fight off any assassins with their metal poles.

The track steadily took us downhill – raising our anticipation as we all suspected that what goes down must come up.  (Certainly my cat lives by that rule anyway).

At the bottom of the hill Biggus was eyeing off a dilapidated cubby house which he thought was clearly a renovators delight.  Fourex and Schnapps politely agreed, just proving what good friends they are.

ON ON to the drink stop via mixed use trails which were popular with the local hells angels pedal bikies, requiring us to get out of the way on several occasions.

At the bottom of the hill, Softdrinks and a bag of lollies made sure we had energy for the trek back up.  And up.  And up.

Bootee, naturally falling behind on all up stretches, was privileged to witness the power of the local cicadas, which put on a convincing simulation of a sound intensity burglar alarm which could bring tears to a grown mans eyes (according to Biggus).  Personally I was rather worried about being publicly pissed on.

Finally Lilo turned up for a flying visit – considerately flushing out the local coppers and taking one for the team, so the rest of us didn’t also get done for speeding on the way back down.  Onya girl!

Down Downs:
The hares:  VD and Bite & Suck
Visitors:  Shitler (Hong Kong Hash), Lilo, Tasty Tail, John (who came with Tasty Tail), Midstrength and Accomplice.
Bootee for dragging the chain and coming last.
The overachievers with mountain trekking poles (Wopa, Flower & Bite & Suck)
The Hash “Beer” family:  Fourex, Crown Lager, Tooheys New and Mid Strength.
Wopa charged VD for something about his foreskin, but personally it sounded like too much information to me – let the boys keep that to themselves I say.

Biggus wore a GPS tracker on the run, so you can all see the following picture (which didn't load) of exactly where we went.  How he managed not to get an overachievers down down I don’t know, perhaps there are some benefits of being the GM.

SH3 marks the spot to be
The Hares, Verbal's & Bite & Suck brief the assembled Hounds on the gradients to be expected, Grouse Sheila laughs off the challenge.
The Circle
New Guests Accomplice, Shitler, LiLo, Tasty Tail & John - welcomed by Biggus
The 'Beer' family cheers a sample of home--brew
